Festival Iminente returns to Lisbon for its 10th edition from 17 to 20 September 2026, taking over the Escola Industrial Afonso Domingues in the Marvila district. The festival has grown from a small street-art gathering into one of Lisbon’s most internationally recognised urban culture events, bringing together muralists, performers, musicians and skaters across a former industrial campus.
What the Festival Covers
The outdoor art areas and mural installations are free to enter throughout the weekend. Artists from across Europe, Latin America and Africa paint live murals on the escola’s walls and surrounding structures during the four days, so the site is genuinely different on Sunday than it was on Thursday.
Music programming takes place on multiple stages inside the campus. Past editions have mixed electronic music, hip-hop, afrobeat and experimental sets. The 2026 lineup is announced in stages via the festival’s own channels — check the official site for confirmed artists as the date approaches.
The skate zone returns as a centrepiece of the festival layout, with sessions open to participants and visitors. Food stalls concentrate around the main entrance area, with a mix of Portuguese street food and international options.
Marvila and Getting There
Marvila sits east of the city centre, roughly 25 minutes from Baixa by tram or bus. The nearest bus routes are 718 and 728, running from Martim Moniz. Ubers operate throughout, though availability is tighter around festival closing times.
The neighbourhood has developed considerably in recent years and now holds several of Lisbon’s better creative spaces, independent restaurants and wine bars — it is worth arriving early and spending an afternoon in the area before the evening programme begins.
Ticket Information
Tickets are required for the music stages and evening programming; the art areas and most daytime activities are free. Advance tickets are available through the festival website. For the 10th anniversary edition, expect a larger programme than usual and some reunion moments with artists from earlier editions.
